Bible Text: Rom. 10:6-13; Dan. 10:20-21; Isa. 34:16; Jn. 8:38 | What makes a sovereign state or organization great is not all about human and material resources at her disposal alone. But the respect and willingness of people at different levels of society to abide to the dictate of her constitution on all spheres of the land. Although written by men, yet speaks, has power to enthrone and dethrone, sentence to prison or death, and sets individuals free etc. It is principally documented for the purpose of making the state governable (Rom. 13:3-4).

 

If the constitution (laws) made by men speaks and has power to kill and make alive. The scriptures of truth inspired by God through the Holy Spirit does much more (2Pt. 1:20-21).  We will be considering the message in three main points:- (1) The Scripture Of Truth Explain (2) Its Power To Save (3) Destroy.

 

The Scripture Of Truth Explain (2Tim. 3:16-17)

The scripture is the inspired word of God, the only source of knowledge of the Almighty God to all man-kind. The Holy Scripture is referred to as the Bible, the oracle of God, the Word of God, the book of the Lord, etc.  Its superiority to other books and influence on nations and individuals makes it indispensable to all men today. The uniqueness of the scripture is great because it has solution to every problem of man today (Is. 34-36) and meets the needs of all people irrespective of their races and languages (Matt. 4:4). Understanding and believing its content can change your life for good.  This is exactly why we are here now.

 

Its Power To Save (Rom. 10:4; Jms. 4:12)

Unlike the writers of state constitution who are all mortals that will stand before the Judge of all men, He is unchanging as He sits on His throne and watches over His word for confirmation. The central theme of the scripture is Jesus Christ and His saving grace (Jn. 20:31). To fully benefit, understand and rightly interpret its message, one must first receive Jesus Christ as Saviour. Besides, one must have clear and definite experience of salvation (Eph. 2:8). Those who do not know Christ and those who have wrong conception about Him cannot appropriate the provision of the Father through Christ because a carnal man cannot understand the things of the Spirit.

 

Many a people are making frantic efforts in order to be saved from the guilt of sin. Some are zealously following unending religious/secular activities, with heavy yokes of various kinds hanging over their necks. Others practice spiritism in the name of worshipers of God as they seek through medium to get saved from troubles of life. Some have turned to man-made gods as they subscribe to occultic books, secret cults, running from one Church to the other, get engaged in endless land and house deliverances. Others have the scripture but do not bother or have time for its content thereby weeping when they should be rejoicing. For situations to change, somebody must stop to ask the pertinent question on how to be saved from lives of failure and defeat trailing one’s life over the years. An Angel said to Daniel I have come to show thee what is noted in the scriptures of TRUTH (Acts 4:12; Dan.10:20-21). The scripture is the final court of appeal in all matters that have to do with our material, financial, spiritual well-being. In fact anything contrary to the written word of God is of demonic origin and must be destroyed. If the Son of God shall set you free, you shall be free indeed.

 

Its Power/Ability To Destroy (Jms. 4:12)

Satan operates in a very subtle way, he first gains a foothold, then he establishes his rule over people’s life (Dan. 6:7-8). Like Darius, he perpetuates his evil in various ways through handwriting, ordinances, dreams, etc. but the scripture recognizes only one law giver (Gen. 49:10). The gathering is unto Him, He has redeemed His people from the curse of the law, ordinances and handwriting of different kind, nailed same at the cross. He has power to change times and seasons.  He destroyed the works of Satan and made show of it openly while at the cross. He left a detailed plan for His people prior to His departure at the completion of His earthly ministry (Eph. 4:7-8). The gift is for everyone: adults, suckling, babes (Ps. 8:2).  Right now, He seats on the throne in heaven waiting for His enemies to be put under His feet by the hand of the Church (1Corinth 15:25). The writing at the wall of King Belshazzar palace is MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. Now, if God was mindful of sanctified vessel of silver, Gold and judged King Belshazzar what will He do for you who is created in His image?
