THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD (PART 2)
Bible Text: 1Cor. 2:1-13 | CHARISMATIC HOUR (19/11/19)

Topic: THINGS THAT ARE FREELY GIVEN TO US OF GOD (PART 2)
Text: 1Cor. 2:1-13
In our last Charismatic Hour fellowship, we were informed that most of the things we need, summed up as the things that belong to our peace, have already been freely given to us by the LORD our God (Lk. 19:41-42; 1Cor. 2:9-13). In fact, there are more things given to us freely of God than we know and can imagine (1Cor. 2:9). Now that we know this fact, what else shall keep us in lack or impoverished? Today we will address some issues that guarantee our possession of the things freely given us by God under two points. (1). Qualification For Possession, (2). Transition From Hope Mentality.
Qualification For Possession
In every endeavour of life there exists some qualifications or criteria for merits or honour. This also obtains in spiritual things. The things freely given to us of God, have their qualification for possession. The LORD expects us to possess these qualifications in order to possess the blessings. These qualifications are:
Love For God (1Cor. 2:9).
The things freely given of God are special packages for those that love Him. By this, it means that love for God automatically launches one into His store house of blessings. It qualifies one for His blessings. Also it challenges those who desire His blessings to develop love for God.
Love for God entails love for His word, His Church and His house, His fellowship, and His projects, His people and His servants. Lukewarmness, carefree attitude and coldness towards the things of God are evidences of lack of love for God. Let us ask ourselves, do we love the LORD?
The Presence Of His Spirit (1Cor. 2:10-13).
The Spirit of God is the Spirit of revelation. He beams the light of revelation and insight into the deep and hidden treasures of heaven, making them evident and real upon the senses of men (Jn. 16:12-13). The love for God and the presence of His Spirit in a man guarantees His blessings and qualifies one automatically for the blessings (Jn.14 :21, 23-27). The presence of the Spirit of God, is pivotal to realizing His promises. Do you possess His Spirit?
Transition From Hope Mentality (Rom. 8:24-25).
Hope is at work when promises are made, awaiting fulfilment. Those who are made promises are usually advised to wait patiently for the promises, while keeping such promises in view. In a case where promises have been fulfilled, it calls for a transition from the mentality of hope, on the part of those promised, to the mentality of possession. It will be unreasonable to continue hoping for what has been made available (cons. Heb.11:1).
For instance, God has given us salvation through Christ and also His Holy Spirit, why does one yet wait in hope for His salvation and Spirit which He has already given?
The things freely given us by God are not again to be hoped for but to be received.
All we need is to develop genuine love for God and receive His Spirit. With this, we can move on by faith to possess the things freely given us by Him.
Let’s rise to pray.
