Welcome you again to this 2024 Easter retreat of the Washman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement, which is entitled, Will God Hurt or Withhold His Searchable and Inexhaustible Resources? A day of luck, and it’s time to switch camps. I count it a great privilege and honor to stand to speak to the church again as mandated by man of God, our pastor. And I’m trusting the Lord that he will bless us through the ministration that is coming now.

 

So I want you to sit back or stand and listen to the music ministry as they bring forth these two songs, song number 201 and 204. The way things are now, the volume, so to say, of evil, what is happening in our society today demands that the fire of the Lord comes upon our lives.

 

So I want you to lift up your voice and tell the Lord like Elijah, Elisha did that day. Standing at Elijah’s feet, Elisha asked for a double portion. So open your mouth and tell the Lord that as I sit to listen to your word, I want you to stand up from this meeting a different person, a person that your hand has come upon, a person that has experienced a translation, even from this realm to a realm that is required, a realm that is needed, even to be able to combat and contend with what is happening in our day.

 

And so blessed spirit of the living God will come like Elisha came that day following Elijah, following Elijah. And at that point, Elijah asked him, you wait here, tarry here, I go and come. He said, I’m not going to leave you.

 

Because he knew that what he was looking for and what he needed in order to fulfill ministry is something that has no substitute or substitute rather. And so he went on until he came to a point that he was asked, now you can ask what I will do for you before I be taken away. And then he turned and said, I need the double portion of your spirit.

 

And he said, that’s something difficult, something hard. However, he continued, great father, and the hand of the Lord came upon him. There was a dropping of mandate.

 

There was the overturning of the life of Elisha. And Elisha, the man that was being mocked, after the experience, he became a man celebrated, a man that all of those people that were saying or like taunting him, came to him and asking him, saying, calling him master. Before they were asking, do you know that they are master? We’ll be taken away from your head today.

 

Say, hold your peace. Everlasting father, it is my prayer that every one of us will experience. Even you, even your spirit, even your hand, even the oil of God that flows from heaven is necessary, great father, that our heads, great father, be filled with fresh oil to be able to finish the battle, to finish this phase of the work of the ministry.

 

So we come waiting upon the Lord, great father, for the promise that is given. I want to say, Lord of glory, may we, by our faith, as we listen to the word of God, get connected into that which God have arranged. At the end, everyone will have a cause to glorify God.

 

Spirit of the living God, come and take over. Take over your people, minister into your people, minister life, minister freedom, minister deliverance, minister grace. Let your people be empowered in such a way, great father, that as we will be leaving at the end of this retreat, we will all leave different men altogether.

 

Thank you for answer to this prayer. In the name of Jesus, we have prayed. Amen.

 

Once again, you are welcome to this session of meeting, and we will be dealing with a subject matter. Parry until you are endued with power from on high. And I’m trusting the Lord that it’s going to be beyond talk.

 

Trusting the Lord that our lives will experience fresh fire. It is necessary that it happens. It is necessary that God comes afresh to talk to us one-on-one, face-to-face.

 

That becomes very, very necessary. So I want you to follow me as we go to look at the following scriptures before we come into the message proper. So in Luke chapter 24, let us read verse 49.

 

Luke chapter 24, and let us go to read from verse 49, and behold, I send the promise of my father upon you, Lord, parry in the city of Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. And in John chapter 14, let us read from 16 through to 18. Chapter 14 of John, reading from verse 16, and I will pray the father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever.

 

Even the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because he seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him. For he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless.

 

I will come to you. Chapter 15 of the same John, and reading from verse 26 to 27, but when the comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the father, even the spirit of truth, which proceeded from the father, he shall testify of me. And ye also shall bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

 

And in Acts of Apostles chapter 2, and reading from verse 1 through to verse 4, and when the day of Pentecost was fully come, there we are all with one accord in one place, and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. And so, again, we are looking at tarry until you are endued with power from on high.

 

The word tarry there means wage, and power from on high. Power is translated from the Greek word exosia, and it means authority and power, especially moral influence and jurisdiction or dominion, or power is also translated from the Greek word dunamis, and it means strength or power or ability, power for miraculous works or spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit releases upon men and women. Now, the situation that we have found ourselves today has made it unavoidably needful that every one of us should experience the hand of God daily.

 

Every day we should be filled with the spirit of God, and refilled with the spirit of God because of things that are happening that are capable of causing spiritual leakages. And so, the last days are evil days with multiples of activities of Satan, and the increased activities of seducing spirits, and therefore, it is necessary that we have the encounter with the power from heaven to be able to resist, to be able to stand the force of wickedness that is at work. When we open to First Timothy chapter 4, we will see what is said about the last days.

 

Can we briefly look at First Timothy chapter 4 so that we have a picture of what these last days that we have been called to work for God looks like? Chapter 4, First Timothy, reading from verse 1, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly without means in word, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There is departure from faith, and there is giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. The doctrines of devils are flying up and down.

 

The activities of seducing spirits have increased, and there is a very big departure from faith. Many, many things we call faith today is not faith, and therefore, it becomes necessary that we have the Spirit of God to be able to discern, to be able to understand, to be able to know which of the things that people call faith and things that are taught today are from God. And then in Second Timothy chapter 3, Second Timothy, the third chapter, and let us read from verse 1, Please know also that in the last days, perilous times shall come, talking about last days again, and talking about dangerous period, perilous time, then listed out what will be.

 

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, and unholy, and if you go down, you will see other things. Now, it is equally important that we also know and be reminded that in these last days, the devil has known that he has but a little time, and he has intensified his activities and his wickedness, and he’s not leaving any stone unturned. He’s walking around the clock to make sure that many are brought down, and many are kept in captivity.

 

In Revelation chapter 12 and verse 12, Therefore, rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them, woe to the habiters of the earth and of the sea, for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows, he knoweth that he has but a short time. So the devil knows that he has a short time, and he has factored it into his activities. And therefore, we should be able to have the power, the spirit of the Lord to be able to contend with the devil and contend his activities.

 

In chapter 5 of Ephesians, and let’s take it from verse 14. Wherefore, he said, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil, redeeming the time because the days are evil.

 

This was Paul’s injunction or letter to the church at Ephesus several, over 2,000 years ago, or thereabout, or close to 2,000 years ago. 9 verse 17. Wherefore, be not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is, and be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the spirit.

 

So we need to be filled with the spirit to be able to know the evils of the time and stand the evils of the time. We need also that our eyes of understanding to be open, to be enlightened, so that we can see the available resources of God, which we can take advantage of. That is where the theme of this meeting comes in, where God had or withhold his unsearchable and inexhaustible resources in the day of lack.

 

He did not withhold his resources in the days of old or the people he used in time past that were successful. He gave them every resource that he had, including the resource of power. And so if we must be able to stand this evil day, must be able to fight the battle, must be able to carry on with the evangelistic calling of God upon our lives, must be able to face the threefold end time project squarely.

 

Even in these days of difficulties and hardships, we must need to have our eyes of understanding being opened, being enlightened. In Ephesians chapter one, Paul prayed for the church of God in Ephesus. He prayed that the eyes of understanding be opened.

 

Now in Ephesians chapter one, verse 17, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, may give you unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the sense and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us world who believe according to the working of his mighty power. We need to know the exceeding greatness of the power of God to us who believe whom he has called to his work.

 

Now in verse 20, which he wrote in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places far above all principalities and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come. So we need to have our eyes opened and it is the Holy Spirit that we do the opening of our eyes when he comes into our lives and he’s allowed to do his work. So the things that are happening in the church and outside the church, the world today, they are so intimidating, they are so frightening, they are so fearful that they need to have one-on-one talk with God, one-on-one and face-to-face experience with God become a necessity.

 

And just like God had in time past, time with the fathers of faith and prophets who carried out prophetic ministries, they all at one time or the other experienced God. I had a continuous experience of God and his spirit and his spirit rather. There was a one-on-one discussion between God and Abraham several times even in the days that Abraham was called.

 

And God had several meetings with Moses wishing Mabu Moses to come into conviction and also to continue in the business that God gave him that had a lot of obstacles, a lot of opposition like ours have. And also God had a long talk with Gideon before he was able to convince him and in fact he demanded proofs before he was convinced to go to war with the Midianites. So God has become a necessity to God himself that he should not just leave us the way we are otherwise there will be no church.

 

And in Exodus chapter 33 and let us read verse 11 to see a discussion between God and Moses as Moses continued leading the people. And it became very very obvious to him that he needs the presence of God for him to be able to continue in leading the people. Exodus chapter 33 and reading from verse 11.

 

And the Lord spoke unto Moses face to face as a man speaketh unto his friend. Now that discussion brought freshness to Moses, fresh awareness and conviction. And he turned again into the camp for his servant Joshua the son of none a young man departed not out of the tabernacle and Moses said unto the Lord see thou sayest unto me bring up these people and thou has not let me know whom thou will send with me.

 

Yet thou has said I know thee by name thou has also found grace in my sight. This is a discussion heart to heart talk between a man Moses and God who called him and giving him assignment. And so we need this type of experience.

 

Verse 14 and he said he said my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him if thy presence go not with me carry us not up hence for wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight. Is it not in that thou goest with us so shall we be separated I and thy people from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

 

And the Lord said unto Moses I will do this thing also that thou has spoken for thou has found grace in my sight and I know thee by name. And he said I beseech thee show me thy glory and he said I will make all my goodness pass before thee I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee I will be gracious to whom I’ll be gracious I will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. And he said thou canst not see my face for there shall no man see me and leave.

 

And the Lord said because there is a place by me and thou shall stand upon a rock and it shall come to pass while my glory passeth by that I will put thee in a cliff a cliff of the rock and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by and I will take away my hand and thou shall see my back pass but my face shall not be seen. Now and if you go down to 34 you see that that happened and that was a kind of a great boost to Moses to continue in the ministry that God gave him and so it is necessary that we experience the power from on high the power of God from on high it has become very necessary. The present situation we have found ourselves a call for each and I want to assure us that if God did not deny Moses request who requested to see his face and God said but my face if you no man that sees my face will leave.

 

So he but he obliged him to see his back and when Abraham encountered God and made his argument God granted his request the same thing with Gideon and even Jesus who asked the disciples to tarry to wait until power came upon them from on high he did so because he understood their need for the power coming from on high. So God who did this of old will in no way hold his inexhaustible resources including the resource of power. God is full of power and our father in the Lord told us that if God gives out power if God gives out anything it does not reduce anything from God he illustrated it with saying if a person that has carpentry knowledge passes it to another person it doesn’t reduce the knowledge of the person whatever you have as information or a knowledge and you pass it out to some other persons it will not reduce what you know and so whatever God gives out including his power including the Holy Spirit it does not diminish God Almighty.

 

God is greater than ocean the more he gives out the more it is like nothing has been taken out from him and so with this teaching or message we look at two issues two points number one why do we need the Holy Spirit and the power from on high and then question number two or number two point rather the steps we are to take or how do we what how do we experience the Holy Spirit and the power the steps we are to take in order to experience the Holy Spirit these are the two points we want to look at so the first point is why do we need the Holy Spirit and the power we have already said a few of them but let’s go further to bring more information now if if receiving the Holy Spirit the power from on high was not necessary Jesus Christ wouldn’t have asked their disciples to tarry as important as winning of soul as important as evangelism was to Christ and is to God now he would not allow them to go out without the power from on high that is how important it is and even Jesus who came from heaven would not start ministry without the power from on high he was just like every other person ordinary man walking the streets of Jerusalem until the Holy Ghost came upon him and when he came upon him and the power came upon him that was when ministry began in Zechariah chapter 4 the rubber bear was given a very big project to execute for God and then but Zechariah told the rubber bear that this project that has been given to you you cannot execute it by power you cannot execute it by might what you need in order to execute it is no other thing but by the Spirit of God for this project to be executed now here we are have been given great project the project of making sure you remain a child of God that is the first project the second project is the project of making others children of God now these are two great projects that we cannot execute without the Spirit of God so in Zechariah chapter 4 and let us read from verse 6 then he answered and spake unto me saying this is the word of the Lord unto the rubber bear saying not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord of hosts by my spirit this great project project of raising the broken temple this project can only be accomplished by my spirit now this project was being executed on that great opposition and then on that great opposition from the enemies that will not want the project to be executed and God knew that as it were that the rubber bear was already afraid and then he needed to be told that he required the Spirit of God to be able to get this done now in first somewhere chapter 2 verse somewhere chapter 2 and let us read verse 11 verse somewhere chapter 2 and reading verse 11 okay verse 9 please he will keep the feet of the saints and the wicked shall be silent in darkness or by strength shall no man prevail the need to prevail is very very obvious and things that are calling that we should overcome there are so much that it takes the power of God coming upon upon upon us every day experiencing a renewal of this power of God to be able to prevail when Samson had a need of setting the the vineyard of the field of the enemies the Philistine setting it on fire he caught about 300 foxes and then and empowered them so to say put fire on their tails and then I sent them into the into the field to get them burnt so there are so much that are facing us so much opposition against the truth we have so much opposition against Christian life so much opposition against everything that is godly and we need the power of God we need the Holy Spirit to be able to carry on with our activities and so we need the Holy Spirit and his power to be able to live for God a life of holiness in the midst of pollution and in the midst of deterioration in Philippian chapter 2 it is it is required that we should be blameless in the midst of crooked generation Philippian chapter 2 Philippians chapter 2 and uh reading verse 12 wherefore my beloved as you’ve always obeyed not as my in presence only but now much more in my absence walk out your own salvation with fear and trembling for it is God which walketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure do all things without murmurings and disputings that he may be blameless and harmless as sons of God without rebuke the midst of crooked and perverse nation among whom you shine as lies in the world there is perverseness and there is crookedness everywhere and for us to be able to live a blameless life and a harmless life we need the help of the Holy Spirit so we need the power from on high to be able to walk for God in the midst of several challenges both personal challenges and general challenges confronting us every one of us have one challenge or the other and for us to be able to handle all these personal challenges it could be financial challenge could be anything any challenge anything that is not giving you giving you space to breathe requires that the power of God should be employed to be able to contend to be able to attain whatsoever that situation be in acts of apostle chapter one and taking it from verse 8 for you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me and ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you then you can become a witness then you’ll be able to face opposition then you’ll be able to face whatsoever so the Holy Ghost power is not only just needed for the work of God for the work of God even for our personal needs we need the Holy Spirit and his power yes now we have infirmities and it is the Holy Spirit that will help us in our infirmities now if the spirit of he that raised Jesus from the dead worsened you this same spirit will weaken your mortal bodies now for us to enjoy health we also need the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives to be able to enjoy good health and other things we should enjoy as important and as urgent as so winning is the disciples like I said earlier we are told to wait till the power comes and they waited it was as they waited that the power of God came so it took the collaboration of the Holy Spirit and the word of God to make progress at the beginning and therefore we need the power of God if we must make progress we must make progress in anything in our lives in Genesis chapter one one two three in the beginning God made the heavens and earth and the earth was without and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and God said let there be light and there was light that obstacle of darkness was taken out of the way because of a collaboration between the Holy Spirit and the word of God the hopeless and helpless situation shown and the review to Ezekiel in that revelation to Ezekiel we find the spirit of God and the word of God collaborating to bring an army that was formidable so we find out that for us to become revived for us to become what we should be to be able to withstand all the opposition position that is coming from everywhere we need the Holy Spirit and so and I will want to make us know that given God given Holy Spirit to us and his power from on high is easier than giving us Jesus yes given Holy Spirit is easier than giving Jesus but he gave us Jesus who took our place and died and if God gave Jesus then what will he not give us now listen before Jesus came to die on the cross God had been releasing his spirit upon men yes Moses had the spirit of God Elijah had the spirit of God Elijah had the spirit of God even David and some of the prophets of old they were prophesying by the spirit of God now but nobody among them had Jesus had their sins forgiven so if God did not keep Jesus back from us then and he gave him for us will he withhold the Holy Spirit seeing that we need him to be able to perform James said that as the body without the spirit is dead so also faith without walk is dead so if any person has not the spirit of God as far as God is concerned that person is dead and so how we God who asks his people to ask not give them what they are asking is that not wickedness is that not deceit therefore every one of us that has a seen his need the infirmities the lacks wake up in the morning and find you cannot pray you find you are struggling and struggling even Jesus who came from heaven he needed the Holy Spirit for him to carry on with the walk the immediate apostles immediate disciples could not perform much until the Holy Spirit came upon them and released the power and the prophets of old and the kings of old and the fathers of old and those who walked of old none of them could amount to anything none of them could achieve anything for God without the power of God enveloping them so the power from on high made the difference between the apostles before the Pentecost and the apostles after the Pentecost so we need the power from on high because we need to experience the difference in John chapter 19 chapter 20 rather and verse 19 let us see the apostles of Jesus before the the day the power came upon them and then we will see them after the power had come John chapter 20 19 then the same day at evening being the first day of the week when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for the fear of the Jews came Jesus and stood in the mist and said unto them peace be unto you the disciples were in doors they were driven into hiding by fear these same disciples after what happened in as of apostle chapter 2 we are very bold to confront the people and to to stand up and answer the people that they couldn’t stand so we need the Holy Spirit you know in order to have boldness in order to have faith in order to live a life that is without fear there are so many intimidating things there are so many things happening around us that can push here into even men of God great men of God and we need the Holy Spirit to be able to be freed from fear that of things that are happening around us as chapter 2 and reading from verse 14 but Peter standing up with the 11 at this time something has happened at this time the power from on high has come upon them and Peter stood up with the 11 lifted up his voice and said unto them ye men of judaea Peter that denied Jesus Peter that denied Jesus before a little girl was now standing before the sahindrin before the authority of the Jews before the elders before the bearded pharisees and all those people that are dreaded now if we must penetrate into nations and places that that that people are afraid to go we need the power from on high to be able to who will take us to strong cities the city where you have found yourself is not going to be conquered by complaining it is by the spirit of God that will be able to unlock the hearts of men in their great number and so in that same chapter of as of apostle 2 and verse 14 but Peter standing up with the 11 lifted up his voice and said unto them ye men of judaea and all ye that dwell in Jerusalem be this known unto you according to my words for these are not drunken as you suppose saying it is but the third hour of the day but this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel and it shall come to pass in the last days say it God I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams and on my servants and on my handmaidens I’ll pour out into those days of my spirit and they shall prophesy and and and so it is when the spirit of God in the larger measure came upon Peter and his colleagues that they were liberated from fear and so we need the Holy Spirit to be able to be free from fear to be able to do the work of God in the midst of hazards the midst of opposition Jesus Christ as I earlier said was walking the streets of Jerusalem like ordinary man but see Jesus after the power came from on high upon him different Jesus and so the resurrection of Jesus by the was by the Holy Spirit oh yes and the word of God that became flesh was by the Holy Spirit so we need the Holy Spirit in order to experience a great transformation in order to be men and women that that we do miraculous now how did the word of God become flesh it became flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit and so the oil of God is what makes the difference all of us needs or need the oil of God when you begin to minister with the Holy Spirit when the oil is upon you and you are singing you are sung we make a different meaning when the oil is upon you and you are preaching your preaching may not be too logical a preaching may not look seem powerful but what it will do in the hearts of men will be something you may not be able to understand it is the Holy Spirit that makes the difference between ministries and ministries and ministers and ministers one minister had all the knowledge that you’ll be able to explain the word of God so powerfully so to say but this is by the wisdom acquired human wisdom but other minister has not that deep knowledge but it just comes out and he picks a scripture and announces it but it was his feed with the Spirit of God that which comes by a man that has the feeling of the Spirit of God will have a greater impact that is why we need the Holy Spirit because he is the person that makes the impact the oil of heaven the Holy Ghost made the difference between David and his siblings and David and Saul look at Saul had all the equipment Saul had all the amulets to be able to stand Goliath but at that time he has lost the spirit and David had no knowledge of warfare but he had the spirit it was the man who had no knowledge of warfare but he had the freshness of the Spirit of God that was used to defeat the enemy and so we need the Holy Spirit because the prophets of old the priests the kings and men of who do serve God in the in God’s house we’re all powered by the Holy Spirit and therefore if we must of God they are sons of God so we need to be led by the Spirit of God for you have not received the Spirit of bondage again to fear but you have received the Spirit of adoption whereby you can cry Spirit is it so that I can make money with it is it so that I can make name with it is it so that people will begin to help me these are not correct reasons correct motive and so there must be a correct motive then the next thing number three is the number three step you must take in order to encounter the power from on high is decide if you truly and really want the power from on high decide Every fibroid, it is time for the fire of the Lord to consume fibroid. It is time for the kidneys that are not working to start working. It is time for the power of God to filter the livers that are not working.

 

It is the time for the power of God to touch lives and transforms life and change life. Thank you blessed Holy Spirit. Thank you our father.

 

Thank you for the healing. Thank you for giving children. Thank you for consuming all the things that ancient people have done that are speaking.

 

It is time to silent the voices. Voices that are speaking against the people. Voices that are speaking that there will be no cry of children in those homes.

 

Voices that are speaking. Voice of covenant of the fathers. Voice from the idols.

 

Voice from the gods. Wherever they are. All those voices that are speaking against watchmen in diaspora.

 

I’m there and they are there. Nothing is working. This time Lord, silent those voices and consume them.

 

You are God answered by fire. You are our God. Let your fire consume.

 

Let the Holy Ghost fire consume everything that the devil have put up against our lives. In the name of Jesus. Thank you our father and our God.

 

Thank you for what you have done. Thank you for remembering us. Thank you for feeling us.

 

Thank you for sending your grace and your spirit into our life. Thank you for the wonders that you have done. Thank you for the miraculous.

 

Thank you for your grace that have been released upon our lives. Thank you for lifting us up into the realm. Thank you for opening our eyes upon understanding.

 

To understand who we are and what we have. Thank you my father because you cannot hold these resources. You cannot hold your power.

 

You cannot hold your grace. You cannot keep back. You cannot withhold what is needed even to execute the ministry.

 

Thank you very much. Now we can prosper. Now we can make progress.

 

Now our ladies will not get married and our children. Now we can live without dying of these infirmities. Now great father, the church will be free from all the infinities that the devil has hit upon our lives.
