The Watchman was that man the Lord found from among men to make up the hedge and stand in the gap when the prophets, priests, princes and the people deviated and erred, and the judgement of God was in pending or already released (Ezekiel. 22:26-31; Isaiah. 62:1-7).

Following the trend of events in the present day, it is evident that the need for the ministry of the Watchman cannot be overemphasized (cp. Matthew. 24:12; 2Timothy. 3:1-5; 4:3,4).

On another note, there are many today who happen to find themselves in the ministry of the Watchman without knowing where they are and what it is all about.
