THE LOVE IS STILL SPEAKING
Bible Text: John. 3:16; Isaiah 1:16-20; 55:6-9 | Preacher: PST. A. C. OHANEBO, PST. PROTASE OPARA | Series: THE LOVE IS STILL SPEAKING, Who Does He (GOD) Hate
Our last Charismatic Hour message dwelt on the question Who Does He (GOD) Hate? In answering the question, we found out that God does not hate any one. Rather, He loves all and proved this by giving His only begotten Son for a world that thrives in wickedness (Jn. 3:16; 1Jn. 5:19). We ended by drawing a comparative conclusion, that if the world that thrives in wickedness has a chance of mercy and love in the LORD, then much more do the saints or children of God have great opportunities of grace and mercy in Him unto all things (Rom.8:31-32).
Today, we are looking at the fact that the love of God is still speaking as it was of old. This we will consider under three subheadings: (1) The Love Speaking In The Past – The Instances (2) The Love Speaking In The Present – The Evidences (3) Taking Advantage Of The Facts To Excel.
(1) The Love Speaking In The Past – The Instances (Lk. 22:48-51; Jn. 8:1-11; Lk. 7:12-15, 44-50; 23:39-43; Acts 3:1-8; 10:34-38, 44-48)
All the scriptures above are instances of the Love speaking in diverse manners in the past. The Love brought healing to the sick, comfort to the afflicted, joy to the mourning, forgiveness to sinners, Holy Ghost baptism to sincere seekers and a lot more. Even the physically dead were restored to life. The Love of God spoke so eloquently in the past that Jesus wept and the people took notice of it (Jn. 11:33-36). The Love continued speaking even after the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth, evident in Acts of the Apostles (Acts 10:34-38).
(2) The Love Speaking In The Present – The Evidences (Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8; Jms. 1:17-18)
If God does not change; and Jesus is the same yesterday. Today and forever, it follows, that if we put on the right attitude or come to Him with the proper disposition we shall reap from His Love as the others did in the past. The evidences are these scriptures (Psa. 50:22-23; Isa. 1:18-19; 59:1-3; Jms. 4:3-10).
Our evidence to show that God=s love is still speaking today is His unchanging nature, and the fact that God cannot lie. His words are yes and Amen, as He spoke in the past and performed His words, so He speaks in the present and will definitely perform it (Heb. 6:17-18).
(3) Taking Advantage Of The Facts To Excel (Isa. 1:18-19; 51:21-23; Jn. 3:16)
Those who are wise don=t let opportunities slip by them. They utilize whatever opportunity that makes itself available. The fact that the love of God is still speaking loud and clear in this our generation calls for the wise to take advantage of the fact to escape hell, be delivered from bondage and affliction, prosper physically and materially, and get the best of spiritual things. We must therefore come to Him as He demands and calls in (Isa. 1:18-19; Matt. 11:28). Believe and receive Him as He counsels, in (Jn. 1:12, 3:16) , humble and submit ourselves and draw near to Him as is appropriate (Jms. 4:6-10).
As we take advantage of these opportunities, we shall neither perish, nor remain in bondage, Sin shall not have dominion over us any longer. We shall receive power over serpents, scorpions and all the powers of the enemy, making us more than conquerors.
